Comprehensive PHPLD Directory Mods Compiled!

With the introduction of so many mods available for PHPLD, Eonte is glad to present a most comprehensive list of PHPLD directory mods currently available. Certainly not all mods can be listed here and these are what have been thought to be the more important mods to be used. However, we may also have left out some other mods and we welcome you to recommend omitted mods to us!

Details

1. Detail Page Display with Pagerank
   What this tool does is take all the link from the database and make a list of all of their detail pages sorted by pagerank. FREE.
2. Show Category Path while approving sites
   Now in phpLD approve section, all i have is which category the site is submitted to. This mod will allow administrator to know the whole path in the admin section in order to know exactly where the submission has been made.
3. The Daily Listing
   An innovative advertising box on your directory. Shows for every day of the week a listing of your directory. Contains a page for your customers to apply with PayPal integration and administration system. PAID.
4. Cool Listing of the Day
   Shows a listing of your directory for a day. The box shows 3 listings: yesterday, today and tomorrow. With integrated administration. PAID.
5. PR Update Tool
   A phpLinkDirectory modification that that allows update the page rank of all links in your link database. You can select as many or as few links you would like to update. You can also reset the tracking to update the links at any later date. FREE.
6. Pagerank Stats Mod
   Google Pagerank statistics for all links in your directory. Let browse links by Pagerank with pagination support. PAID.
7. Link Popularity Mod
   Shows number of Backlinks and Indexed pages in major search engines for each listing in directory. PAID.
8. Most Popular Categories
   Displays a linked list of the top 10 visited categories within your directory. The template can be customized to suit your directory and positioning of the top 10 list. The mod works with both rewrite enabled URL’s and normal URL’s as defined in your configuration. FREE.

1. Article of the Day
   Allows you to display a “Article of the Day” on any of the pages you choose. The article is randomly selected from the database; with each day loading a new article. An example of this mod in action can be seen on our homepage. This mod is very straight-forward and easy to install, just download the zip file and follow the install.txt contained within. FREE.
2. Category Related Links
   WIth this mod on each Link Detail page you can display Top Related Links from same Category. You can define number of Related Links. PAID.
3. Category Newsfeed
   Display a newsfeed on any of your category or sub category pages. Each category or sub category can be configured to display different feeds from unique sources and you can decide how many news entries to display on a per category basis. The mod has been tested on a wide variety of newsfeeds including some of the popular feeds such as Yahoo, BBC, ABC News, etc. FREE.
4. Homepage Newsfeed
   Allows you to display a newsfeed on the homepage of your directory to increase the content. Tested on all of the popular feeds such as Yahoo, BBC, ABC News, etc. The mod is very straight forward to install and configure, you can use any feed you wish and decide how many headlines should be displayed. 5. Latest Featured Links
   A very simple mod which allows you to display a list of the latest featured links which have been submitted to the directory. The mod will display the number of featured links as defined under the administration setting “Links on top pages:” under Settings > Directory. FREE.

7. Random Quotes
   This little addition to your site will allow you to display a random quote every time a page is requested. This is a highly effective method of introducing fresh content for the search engines, especially when operating a niche directory. FREE.

1. Referral Mod
   This MOD will help you to track the submissions and by this you can know where the submissions came from! FREE.
2. Sponsored Ads Mod
   Powerful advertise system for Php Link Directory. Supports both: text ads and banners. Dozens of cofigurable settings. Fully integrated with PhpLD Admin what makes menaging advertising system pretty easy. PAID.
3. Directory Sitemap
   With this mod you can easily add to your directory SITEMAP. PAID.
4. Pagerank Limitter Mod
   With this mod you can easily limit submissions only for websites with Google Pagerank equal or higher than you decide. Very good way to limit poor submissions! PAID.
5. Disable Main Categories
   With this mod you can disable Top-Level Categories for submission. The mod doesn’t work with Ajax categories selector. Top-Level categories are still visible on the list but cannot be selected! PAID.
6. Top Level Domain mod
   With this mod you can limit submitted links to Top-Level Domains URLs. Limit can be used for selected link type. PAID.
7. Closed Category Mod
   With this mod you can easily close any category for submission. It is also possible to close category for specific link type. You can try to submit link to Arts->Closed. PAID.
8. Split Category Links
   Split up the category links on your details page and increase your internal linking structure. Normally if a user submits to the category “Business » Investing » Other”, the details page will display a single link back to that category. Install this mod and instead, your details page will generate a link for each sub category. One for “Business » Investing » Other”, one for “Business » Investing” and one for “Business”! FREE.
9. Coupon Mod
   This mod will add an extra “Coupon” field in submit page of phpld directory (any version from 2.0 to 3.2). When a submitter will enter a correct coupon code, he will be eligible to get some discount on the review price The amount of discount can be either fix (e.g. $2.99) or a percentage amount (30%), which can be set from PHPLD admin section. 12. PageRank Updater
    phpLD PageRank Updater is a standalone application designed so directory owners can update the PageRank on all their links remotely. This application does not run on your webserver. That way massive checking of PageRank will not be associated with a site running phpLD. This tool runs independantly of your directory bare from access to your MySQL database. FREE.
13. Alternate Payment
    Provides additional payment options in addition to the default phpLD PayPal payment option: 2CheckOut (2CO), AlertPay, eGold, Moneybookers, and StormPay. Useful if you cannot use PayPal to accept payments, and you want to offer paid listings. PAID.

    Allows different prices to be set for different categories. FREE.
15. Banned Word
    This mod will allow you to enter a list of words to be banned from
    submissions into a text file. FREE.
16. Deep-Links Mod
    This allows submitters to enter additional URLs besides the homepage URL. PAID.
17. Payment System Mod
    Offers a new payment system written in PERL that supports all versions of phpLD. This new system is designed to improve and automate your overall directory business. It allows you to reduce your PayPal fees and to deal with SPAM. Since this payment system incorporates full use of PayPal IPN, it allows you to only see submissions that PayPal has marked as valid. In other words, you won’t see any submission listings in your phpLD admin section unless PayPal notifies you of a successful payment. PAID.

Users

1. Featured Link Renew Mod
   Very useful modification for established directories using expiry time unit for Featured links.
   Allows FEATURED links owners to RENEW their listings in easy and fully automated proccess. PAID.
2. Multiple Categories Submission
   Allows to submit to Multiple Categories with one submission. Suggested number of additional categories: 2-3. Can be restricted to any type of submission. If allowed for featured submissions, link will appear as Featured under main category and as regular under additional categories. PAID.
3. A - Z Mod
   Lets you browse links by alphabet from A to Z. For each alphabet letter links are displayed with pagination support and sorting capabilities. PAID.
4. Social Bookmarks
   This mod allows you to list a series of social bookmarks on your directory for users to either bookmark your site, or bookmark your customers sites directly from the details page. There are various different configuration options which allow you to integrate into your directory. The mod currently supports all of the following social bookmarking sites: Blinklist, Delicious, Digg, Furl, Google, Magnolia, Reddit, Simpy, Spurl, StumbleUpon, Technorati and Yahoo. FREE.
5. Image Uploader
   Allows submitter to upload an image with their listing for display in the listings. For example, if you want to allow banners in listings. Especially useful as a sales incentive by only allowing paid listings the option to upload images. PAID.
6. Rate Listing
   Allows surfers to rate links, with option to display top XX rated links. Highly configurable. You can define: - how long (in XX hours) that someone must wait before they can rate the same listing again [default = 24] [logged IPs in SQL database are automatically purged every XX hours by rate.php]. 7. Refer Listing
   Allows surfers to recommend listings to others, along with optional message. Useful in spreading the word about your site, and increasing traffic to your site. PAID.
8. Report Listing
   Allows surfers to report links (e.g., listing does not load, listing violates the rules) to webmaster, who receives reports via email. Useful in keeping your listings up-to-date, and clean. PAID.
9. Suggest Category
   Allows surfers to suggest categories / subcategories. Suggested categories / subcategories are inactive until webmaster approves them via phpLD Admin - webmaster receives email confirmation when suggestions submitted. PAID.
